lotech was formed in 2001 at the South Island festival Destination and consisted of James Leonard, Jae Kennedy & Simon Barker. With a collective interest in Visual & Video art, and an interest in sample footage archived onto VHS through and early sound reactive CG visualisations. Since then lotech has lost a member, moved a city and evolved into the business & creative outlet it is now. Through our VJ careers we have organised and collaborated on some of New Zealand’s largest visual & music events and supported some of the biggest names in the scene.
Now based in Auckland, we support international tours through to local art performances. We have been heavily involved with numerous festivals including, Splore, Alpine Unity, The Gathering, Destination and for the last 5 years co-ordinated VJing in the Boiler Room at Auckland Big Day Out.
We perform using GarageCubes Modul8 software on the Macintosh Platform.
