Now in its 5th year, Intersect is a video art festival exploring the mediums of live video art and VJing. Throughout the day there will be workshops and discussion from video artists including the Axis of Weevil, Dnation, lotech, and Optrix. Talks include an introduction the video art and performance through to advanced content creation and performance workshops. Some of New Zealand’s most prominent VJ’s will be hosting discussions and will hold an informal Q&A to conclude the event.
1100 – 1300 | Introduction Workshop
An introduction to the basics of VJ’ing. From the basics of video formats & styles through to an VJ specific software & mixers, video projectors and other hardware. Hosted by Simon Barker (lotech)
1400 – 1500 | Analogue VJ / Digital VJ
As the technology has progressed so has the style and methods of VJ’ing. Ben & Dan of Optrix look into the change from analogue based mediums to modern digital based systems.
1500 – 1600 | Content Creation
Kim & Paul of the Axis of Weevils discuss the creative process from the initial concept through production to performance.
1600 – 1700 | Visuals & Stage Design
Robert Appierdo, aka Dnation has provided visuals for live theatre, dance, and live music events and will share his experience in integrating visual content into different environments and performances.
1700 – 1730 | Where to from here? / Q&A
